Your Right to Receive a Good Faith Estimate
Under the No Surprises Act, clients who are not using insurance or who choose to pay privately for services have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate explaining the expected cost of medical or mental health services.
At Calm Haven Mental Health, we are committed to providing clear and transparent information about the cost of therapy services.
What Is a Good Faith Estimate?
A Good Faith Estimate is a document that outlines the anticipated cost of therapy services based on the information available at the time the estimate is provided.
This estimate helps individuals understand potential costs associated with mental health services before beginning treatment.
What the Estimate Includes
A Good Faith Estimate may include:
• the expected cost of therapy sessions
• the frequency of sessions when known
• any additional services that may reasonably occur as part of treatment
Actual costs may vary depending on the needs of each client and the course of treatment.
When You Will Receive an Estimate
Clients who are paying privately for therapy services may request a Good Faith Estimate before beginning treatment.
Estimates may also be provided as part of the intake process when appropriate.
If You Receive a Bill Higher Than Your Estimate
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you have the right to dispute the bill.
Information about the dispute process is available through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
