Calm Haven Mental Health

Kya Christian, LMSW

Reaching out for counseling can feel like a big step, especially when life feels overwhelming or uncertain. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you can feel heard, understood, and accepted exactly as you are.

I work with children, teens, and adults who may be navigating stress, trauma, life transitions, relationship challenges, or simply feeling stuck. I believe counseling is most effective when it feels like a genuine partnership. Rather than seeing myself as the expert on your life, I work alongside you to explore your experiences, build insight, and help you move toward the changes you hope to make.

My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and tailored to each individual. I draw from therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and creative tools such as art therapy and mindfulness techniques. I also take a holistic perspective, recognizing that our mental health is influenced by many factors including family dynamics, culture, environment, and life experiences.

I am deeply passionate about helping people reconnect with their strength and resilience. My hope is that through our work together, you will feel empowered, supported, and equipped with tools that help you move forward with greater confidence and healing.
